On the afternoon of September 8, the Seminar on Investment in China by Overseas Chinese, sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and co-sponsored by CIFIT Organizing Committee, opened at Xiamen Xianglu Hotel. Vice Chairperson of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council Zhao Yang, Assistant Minister of Commerce Wang Chao attended the seminar. Leaders of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Ministry of Commerce, Sichuan, Jilin, Hunan, Fujian and Xinjiang Production and Construction Crops, attended the seminar and gave speeches. The seminar is broadcasted live to Chinese at home and abroad by CHINAQW.COM.CN and GQB.GOV.CN.
The seminar, themed around “cooperation, development, harmony and winning for all”, attracted a significant number of overseas Chinese merchants who have size business operations. The seminar allows them to identify business opportunities in China and gain a full understanding of the country’s economic development policies and investment climates in various regions, especially in China’s central and western regions and established industrials belts in the nation’s northwestern regions.
