Foreign minister Yang Jiechi and commerce minister Chen Deming attended the 21st ministerial meeting of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) held in Singapore on November 12 and delivered speeches, expounding the stance and position of Chinese government on issues concerned.
On the international financial crisis, Yang stated that in the common efforts of international community, there appears the sign that the world’s economy is steadily recovering, and APEC shall unite as one to strengthen coordination and make common efforts to consolidate the trend of economic recovery so as to boost the economic steady development. In the face of the challenge of crisis, Chinese government adopted a series of positives measures in the aspects including promoting growth, maintaining the people’s livelihood and adjusting structure, with positive effects achieved.
Chen said China has been devoting itself to economic integration and common development of Asia-Pacific areas and is willing to join hands with every economic body to proactively seek for an effective and sustained way of the future development, constantly deepen trade investment liberalization and facilitation and make untiring efforts to boost the international trade liberalization and the steady development of the world’s economy.
