Inspired by the national policy of “going abroad”, Hunan provincial small and medium-sized private enterprises proactively “go abroad” to invest and develop their business to be increasingly the leading characters of the provincial investment abroad.

Based on the statistics of Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, in 2009, the provincial newly approved private foreign enterprises amounted to 83, accounting for 88% of the total, with the contracted investment of Chinese party of USD150m, making up 13% of the total.

As of late 2009, the overseas enterprises invested and established by the provincial private enterprises came up to 265, with the total contracted investment of USD749m, and that of Chinese party of USD630m, accounting for 88%, 11% and 30% of the total respectively.
