March 2, the fourth ministerial joint conference on home appliances going to the countryside was held in Beijing, which summed up the work of home appliances going to the countryside in the previous year, deployed the work in 2010 and adopted the plan for related work through deliberation. Vice commerce minister Jiang Zengwei was present, introduced the draft drawing up of the Draft Implementing Rules for Distribution Outlets of Home Appliances Going to the Countryside and raised opinions and proposals for the work of this year.

Jiang pointed out that home appliances going to the countryside is a major move of the central government to battle the international financial crisis, and by the common efforts of departments, the implementation of the policies for such work in 2009 was gradually beefed up, with positive effects achieved, which exerted an active role in fighting the international financial crisis, expanding rural demand and boosting the economic stable and fast growth.

Jiang said that to further do well home appliances going to the countryside and exert the effect of policies for the work, we shall in 2010 continuously perfect policies and measures, enhance the work in such aspects as management of identity cards, distribution outlets supervision and administration and construction of after-sale service system and do well the implementation of policies and measures. MOFCOM will adopt strong measures to require member units of the joint conference according to their responsibilities to do well the work.

The conference was chaired by finance minister Xie Xuren, with responsible persons from the member units of the conference present.
