Deputy Premier Wang Qishan met with WTO director general Pascal Lamy in Ziguang pavilion of Zhongnanhai on July 21. Both parties exchanged views on Doha Development Round and other topics.

Wang though highly of the efforts made by Lamy to promote the Doha Round negotiations, stating that China resolutely fights against the protectionism, proactively boosts the trade liberalization and facilitation and maintain the multilateral trading system featuring mutual benefits and double win. China, promoter of Doha Round negotiations, is willing to make common efforts with other parties to promote the success of the Doha Round negotiations soon.

Lamy said that Doha Round negotiations is critical to perfect the WTO rules and fight against the trade protectionism and he spoke highly of China’s active role in boosting the Doha Round negotiations.
