As of July 25, 287 delegations from 76 countries and regions around the world, including the United States and Italy, have registered for the forthcoming 14th CIFIT, and the number of booths reserved has risen to a record 3,214, about 400 more than last year. Taiwan businesses have booked 200 booths for this year’s CIFIT, compared with last year’s 128. The 14th CIFIT will be staged simultaneously with the 2nd World Investment Forum, and include 18 project matchmaking symposia and 30 forums and seminars.
The 2nd WIF will be joined by company executives, private investors, and investment promotion professionals from across the world. Themed around “investing in sustainable development”, the WIF will include a global investment summit, a ministerial roundtable, and many other significant events.
According to Xiamen Mayor Liu Cigui, the upcoming CIFIT will have various highlights. First, as a recognized international investment and trade promotion event, the CIFIT will include 10-plus high-level international events with participants from more than 80 territories. Second, the CIFIT will feature a sharp focus on the promotion of interaction and cooperation and present various events on hot topics in international investment, including alternative energy, energy conservation and emission reduction, and post-crisis international investment. Third, more substantial results are expected as exhibitions will be staged by industry or project and focus on property investment, creative culture, tourism, and energy conservation and environmental protection. Fourth, greater emphasis will be placed on promoting trade with Taiwan; the organizers will take advantage of the rapid rise of the West Taiwan Strait Economic Zone to promote economic and trade ties with Taiwan.
