To ease the transportation pressure of Xiamen BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), 10 more 12-meter-long BRT buses will be put into use on BRT Line 1 and BRT Line 2 before this year's CIFIT on 8th September 2010, reports Southeast Express.
Apart from that, from 9am on 17th August, the BRT Line 3 will not stop at the Qianpu Nan (前埔南) and Qianpu Bei (前埔北). It's terminal station will be relocated to the Qianpu Interchange Terminal (前埔枢纽).
Since Xiamen BRT was put into use in September in 2008, it has become the first choice of short-distance transportation for Xiamen residents. Meanwhile, its passenger flow has grown from 20-30 thousand daily in 2008 to over 200 thousand daily at present, especially during rush hours.
