Vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Xi Guohua stated on August 17 at the opening ceremony of the 2010 China Internet Conference that we shall speed up the development and application of the Internet.

He expressed that to accelerate the development of the Internet is an important move to shore up the achievements gained in fighting against the international financial crisis and maintain the stable and fast development of economy as well as the only way to speed up the transformation of economic growth mode and adjust industrial structure.
