With the summer vacation approaching to its end, the peak tourist season in Xiamen is cooling off. Thanks to the upcoming China International Fair for Investment & Trade (hereinafter referred to as CIFIT), which falls on 8th September every year, high-end hotels in Xiamen will soon welcome a boom following the summer peak season. Currently, these hotels have primed themselves for the great event, reports Xiamen Business Daily.
 
"We are now polishing our supporting facilities to welcome the World Investment Forum (WIF) and CIFIT guests", said a public relations clerk from Xiamen International Seaside Hotel.
 
13 days prior to the CIFIT, the hotel's occupancy rate has reached 75%, and the room-booking rate for the period between 6th and 10th September has surpassed 90%. "The business is much better than last year", added the clerk.
 
Since the high-end hotels in Xiamen mainly focus on businessmen, and they have made substantial gains due to the increasing number of trade fairs and exhibitions held in Xiamen, a hospitality insider says that international investment fairs like CIFIT and WIF are as good as public holidays and festivals for Xiamen's high-end hotels.
 
It was revealed that the average room rate of the luxury hotels in Xiamen will surpass 1,000 yuan/room, and the average room rate of the economy hotels will be about 360 yuan/room.
