The 7th CIFIT was held in Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, China on 8 September 2003. More than 5000 guests attended the opening ceremony.
The number of attending countries and regions of the 7th CIFIT exceeded 100. UNCTAD became the second co-sponsor of the CIFIT. The fair guests from overseas included,

Although SARS attacked China that year, the member units showed their great enthusiasm to exhibit at the 7th CIFIT.

The 7th CIFIT started ¡°Matchmaking Symposium for Investment Projects¡± for the first time, allowing foreign investors to set up one-to-one negotiations with domestic project holders. Tung Chee Hwa, Stephen Brown, Dale Marshall, Robert Kapp, Dr. Jugen Hambrecht,Edmund Ho Hau Wah made speeches during the International Investment Forum. More than 40 various forums and seminars were held during the 7th CIFIT with over 200 renowned celebrities from all circles of politics , industry and commerce, as well as academy in more than 40 countries and regions.
The 7th CIFIT had 1259 contracts signed with a total amount of foreign 6.652 billion USD.
ore than 300 medium agencies and over 1200 journalists both at home and abroad gathered news at the 7th CIFIT, including 75 overseas medium agencies and 120 foreign reporters.
