There are a total of 42 star-rated hotels in Xiamen, of which 15 are hotels rated above three-star. The five-star hotel is Xiamen Mandarin Hotel; four-star hotels include the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza Harborview Xiamen, the Marco Polo Xiamen, the Overseas Chinese Hotel, and Jingmin Hotel; three-star hotels are Lujiang Hotel, Dong Hai (East Ocean) Hotel, Bi Gong Hotel, United Hotel Xiamen, International Airport Hotel, Miramar Hotel, Xiamen Plaza, Jin Bao Hotel, Longdu Hotel, Minnan Hotel, Huaxia Hotel, etc.

    I. Gulangyu Tourist Area. Gulangyu is separated from Xiamen Downtown Area by the sea. Its major tourist spots include: Sunlight Rock, Shuzhuang Garden, Haoyue Garden, Yu Garden, Zheng Chenggong or Koxinga Memorial, Underwater World, etc.
II. Nanputuo Tourist Area. Located on the east of the old downtown area of Xiamen, it mainly includes the following tourist spots: Nanputuo Temple, Five Old Men Peak, Overseas Chinese Museum, Huli Hill Fort, etc.
III. 10,000 Rock Mountain Tourist Area. Located on the east of Xiamen's downtown area, it's scenic spots include: Xiamen Botanical Garden, Tianjie (Celestial Kingdom) Temple, Wan Shi Yan (10,000 Rocks), Tai Ping Yan (Peace and Tranquility Rock), Hu Xi Yan (Tiger Stream Rock), Bai Lu Dong (White Deer Cave).
IV. Jimei and Xinglin Tourist Holiday Resorts. Located in the northwest part of Xiamen Island, the main tourist spots are: the former rampart of Yanping, Ao Yuan or Turtle Park (Tan Kak Kee Park), Jimei School Village, Mr. Tan Kak Kee's former residence, Haicang Qingjiao Ciji Palace, etc.
V. Tong'an Dalun Culture Tourist Area. The main tourist spots include: Brahma Temple, Brahman Pagoda, Su Song's former residence, Tong'an Confucian Temple, Zhu Xi's Epigraph and Stone Inscription, Twelve-Dragon Pool, Wuxian Holiday Recreation Place, Tingxi Hotspring, etc.
VI. Tong'an Dadeng Tri-islet Tourist Area. Located at Dadeng Town in Tong'an, it consists of Dadeng Islet, Xiaodeng Islet and Jiaoyu Islet, where one can fully enjoy the landscape of the island fishing village and overlook the Quemoy or Jinmen Island of Taiwan not far away.

    You can enjoy yourself with golf, tennis, fishing, bowling, billiars, shooting, sauna massages and so on. You can also find funs in night clubs, bars, discos and esp. in tea houses, where you can find Kwongfu tea, a typical tea-making style of south-eastern Fujian.

    There are a great variety of local specialties in Xiamen, the main ones being boiled seaworm embedded in cold jellyfish, oysters stir-fried with eggs, Minnan rice noodles (fried or with soup), spring rolls, zongzis (the pyramidal bamboo wrapped glutinous rice and meat dumplings), peanut soup, leek dumpling, five-spice meat rolls, scallion cake, deviled noodles, noodles with prawn, bean thread with duck meat, glutinous rice porridge with sea crab, taro, dumpling soup, fried Chinese dates, deep-fried glutinous rice, sugar cake, etc. And the delicate taste of Dafeng braised pig's feet and trotter in soy sauce of Tong'an and other local delicacies such as seafood flavored four-season chaffy dishes, etc. will linger long in your mouth.
Nanputuo Vegetarian Meals are one of the nicest cuisines in Xiamen, and follow the Buddhist vegetarian tradition to prepare dishes excellent in color, flavor, taste and shape, with graceful and novel names. While keeping the original famous dishes of "Half Moon Sinking Down the River", "Golden Lotus in the South Sea", and "Putuo Rice Noodles", etc., scores of new delicacies have been developed such as "Pure Vegetables of Guyue", "Sacred Nuts in Lotus", "Pearls in the South Sea", etc. At present, there are nearly one hundred dishes of various orders in Nanputuo.
