In recent years, foreign investors have shown great enthusiasm for the location advantage and abundant mineral resources in Xinjiang. Currently, enterprises from France, South Africa and Australia have acquired the access to exploitation of andalusite, gold and coal-bed methane in Xinjiang. In the first three quarters of this year, the wholesale and retail projects in Xinjiang signed by foreign investors were up to 25, with contract capital of USD176m, up by 1.3 times year-on-year; the actual utilization of foreign capital in mining industry was USD78.08m, up by 7.2 times year-on-year.
