IFC Supports Chinese Solar Energy Industry

The World Bank and the International Finance Corporation invested large capital in Chinese ENN Group to reduce the cost of solar power generation.
The financing of IFC includes USD45m own capital loans, USD76m syndicated loans and USD15m equity investment. The financing will help ENN Group to construct the first large-scale production line of thin-film solar module in China, reducing the productive costs and promoting the local photovoltaic market. The project is estimated to produce 60 megawatts of thin-film solar modules per year and will be put into production in the second quarter of 2009. |
