On March 4, James X. Zhan, director of UNCTAD Investment Division announced that the second World Investment Forum will be held in the period of September 6-9 2010 in Xiamen, when the 14th China International Fair for Investment and Trade will be held.
Based on the introduction of Zhan, World Investment Forum is a global forum themed international investment and development and present are all investment stakeholders including governmental departments, personnel in the business circle, international organizations, investment promotion agencies, private communities and international investment experts and investors from across the globe.
Zhan said the second World Investment Forum will be held in the background where the financial crisis has not retreated yet and the global economy is to recover, with the theme of “investment boosts sustained development”. Six big activities will be conducted: global investment summit, ministerial round-table meeting, high-level trilateral interaction meeting, international investment agreement meeting of 2010, sustained securities exchange meeting of 2010 and international investment consultants meeting.
The Forum will be sponsored by United Nationals Conference on Trade and Development and undertaken by the Ministry of Commerce of China and Xiamen Municipal Government, which comes about every other year and aims to strengthen international cooperation and promote international investment to contribute to economic growth.
