Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Wan Gang who participated in the first global clear energy minister conference stated on July 20 that clear energy is expected to the area with the most potential of cooperation between China and US and presently, the existing strong bilateral cooperation is also embodied in the area.
Wan said to the media on that day that the Sino-US mainstream of cooperation is clear energy, which is also the common desire, and many universities and national labs of the two countries have established corresponding cooperation projects. Both parties also agreed to set up the Sino-US joint clear energy research center while the US President Barack Obama paid a visit to China. On the sidelines of the conference, China and US jointly put forward the proposal of conducting electric automobile demonstration city and advanced automobile demonstration application so as to boost the cooperation of Sino-US electric automobile demonstration.
