The China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) first launched promotional activities in Taiwan on July 27th to attract Taiwan businesspeople to attend the 14th CIFIT held in Xiamen on September 8th.
Li Liuquan, Deputy Director of the Department of Liaison of the CIFIT Organizing Committee, told the Taiwanese business circle and media in Taipei that CIFIT, one of the largest trade and investment fairs in the world, is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce. In recent years, CIFIT has attracted thousands of overseas merchants. Li indicated that CIFIT has pooled powerful resources from governments of various provinces and regions. It is a gateway for foreign capital to enter the Chinese Mainland, a bridge for mainland capital to go global, a platform for international investment strategy seminars and information release, and also an incubator for investment promotion.
He emphasized that due to the signing of Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), the cross-straits economic and trade relations have entered a new stage with more active economic activities. The number of Chinese Mainland tourists to visit Taiwan is expected to increase substantially. Especially, Chinese Mainland enterprises investing in Taiwan will show a significant upturn. The Taiwanese business circle will embrace a development opportunity that mainland capital flows into Taiwan.
He pointed out that the 14th CIFIT will include the Cross-strait Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, the Real Estate Forum of the World Chinese Entrepreneurs, the China International Real Estate Fair and the Cross-strait Real Estate Investment Cooperation Summit etc., in order to build a communication & transaction platform for Taiwanese businesspeople.
Li also signed an agreement with Qiu Fusheng, Chairman of Taiwan Land Development Corporation, to authorize the company to host the Real Estate Forum of the World Chinese Entrepreneurs and undertake investment promotion for the China Property Fair in Taiwan in the coming three year. The China Property Fair has prepared a special pavilion for Taiwanese enterprises, in which the booth for Taiwan Land Development Corporation occupies over 400 square meters, making it the land developer with the largest booth.
Qiu hoped to build an innovative and transparent communication platform for Taiwanese businesspeople through mutual cooperation.
