The 14th China International Fair for Investment and Trade will be held simultaneously with the World Investment Fair 2010 this year, with more than 50 forums and seminars included. These events are bringing government officials, executives from transnational corporations and other business leaders together in Xiamen. At the same time, a significant number of corporate executives from China and abroad have confirmed their intents to participate in the CIFIT.
The World Investment Forum 2010 is due to open on September 6th. Its major activities include over ten high-level seminars and forums, such as the Opening Ceremony of World Investment Fair and the Global Investment Summit, Ministerial Roundtables, the Annual Conference of International Investment Agreements 2010, and the Annual Conference of Sustainable Stock Exchange 2010. Senior executives of transnational corporations, such as America Deloitte & Touche LLP CEO James H.Quigley, Britain Aviva Investors CEO Paul Abberley, China National Petroleum Corporation president Jiang Jiemin and America Wal-Mart Global VP Ed Chan will be present at the events.
In addition, over 40 seminars and information release events will take place during CIFIT. Among them are 20 seminars and events to be hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, covering subjects such as cross-strait cooperation, energy conservation and environmental protection, anti-monopoly law, investment risk control and service outsourcing. Besides, the 5th Cross-Strait Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and Taiwan Affairs Office, will focus its attention on ECFA. Leaders from Taiwan industrial and commercial associations as well as participants of the ECFA negotiations have confirmed to attend the meeting.
