The American Certification Institution has joined hands with the WTO division of the Ministry of Commerce of China, and brought market information and orders from the US government to the 14th CIFIT.
The scale of the fair has again set a new record high in terms of attracting more international and domestic projects to participate in the tendering process. The procurement of US government orders has without a doubt become a focus for media, public enterprises and scholars before the fair opens.
The US government spends over $3 trillion on global purchase each year. The products range from light industry and chemicals to machinery and automobiles. In order to reduce spending, the US government is actively looking for cheaper products and now is looking to China.
However, as China is not a member of the Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA) signed by some of WTO member countries, Chinese enterprises cannot participate directly into the procurement plan.
Themed "Going out and Bringing in", the 14th CIFIT is designed to bridge China's market with international capital, so as to help more Chinese companies step onto the stage of international development. It is at the same time a core task to introduce international capital and technology into the country.
The Registration and Order conference of the US government's purchasing suppliers will be launched on Sept 9 during the "Seminar of China's accession to GPA". The conference will emphasize practice sessions rather than academic discussions, and resolve the problems faced when entering the international government procurement market from the enterprise's point of view.
This conference will play a vital role in promoting and appealing to the prospect of China's accession to the GPA. It is also expected to find a new path for "Made in China" products to enter the "supermarket" of the US government's trillion-dollar worth procurement.
The leadership of the WTO division of the Secretary of Commerce will attend and address the conference. The conference will also feature a speech from He Zheng, chairman of the American Certification Institution's partner company in Beijing.
He is an expert with many years of research on government procurement and will analyze opportunities for Chinese enterprises in US government procurement, and give guidelines on how to get a ticket into the US market.
He will also introduce the most frequent and the largest number of orders by US government procurement for 20 different industries.
