Chief Executive of Macau Fernando Chui Sai On will lead a delegation of 800 local businessmen to tomorrow's opening of the 14th China International Fair for Investment & Trade in Xiamen.
The fair will include a Macau Pavilion which aims to raise the awareness of the territory's business environment in mainland China and attract more investment. The Macau Trade and Investment Institute gathered a delegation of 800 local businessmen to participate in the event.
Macau's top-official has just returned from Shenzhen to participate in the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese city special economic zone. Speaking to reporters upon his departure on Sunday, Chui defended the multi-tasking role of his head of the Chief Executive's Office and spokesperson Alexis Tam.
Tam holds at least seven different positions in the Government. Chui said that heading the Chief Executive's Office is Tam's main role.
However, he continued, "since we are strengthening our regional cooperation, including Taiwan affairs, the Chief Executive's office must launch initial contacts with other regions."
